Shadow Shot Sunday

This past week had only one two hour snow delay.  Amazing.  This past week the sun shone, which helped to melt, melt, melt our snow drifts!  So now, instead of a driveway, we have a skating rink in our very own yard.

Snow this year is tiring - our street with its snowy mountains on both sides is still not wide enough for two vehicles - as is our driveway. Yet where 40 degrees will feel quite warm today, the feeling that Spring in the Northeast is not too faraway (at least we hope). At least winter shadows are nice and artistic!

We haven't had the snow, but we have had the cold, the gray, the wet and generally dreary weather. And like everyone else, I'm so ready for spring! Great shadow shot for the day and the promise of at least a little sun! Have a great weekend!

Sometimes I miss living on the east coast (now in LA was from Michigan) and then I hear stories of how difficult it is for life to function when the snow really falls. Thanks for posting the photos though at least I can look at it and smile.

Watch out for that skating rink, I know how treacherous ice walks can be.

A well-built brick house--a fine gathering place for shadows!

A SEEKER OF SHADOWS

A seeker of shadows one day
Asked shadows to come out and play:
“O shadows, my dears,
Despite all my fears,
I hope you will not run away.”

if that is your house, it's awesome. and so too are the shadows. it's a dramatic photo and I love it. why, I just noticed that the house is 3 floors! I bet it holds a lot of history and memories. we have a lot of snow here too, but the forecast is for 40's all next week. hold on...Spring is on its way and it's going to be so much fun waiting for it to get closer and closer. have a beautiful weekend!

Great shadows. Probably not so great having the skating rink for a driveway.
