Mills Mansion

Rachel, Hugo, the girls, and I had a picnic on the grounds of the Mills Mansion today.  It was hot and muggy but, sitting beneath the tall trees and gazing out over the Hudson River made the uncomfortableness of the afternoon fade away.  We watched Canadian geese toddle about on the shore with their young and took turns walking/running with Hugo down to the waters edge to get a closer look.  There were a lot of geese droppings down there.  The shore line was a complete mine field really, which delighted Hugo all the more!  I'd like to see how many of the historic houses we can visit before the season ends this year.  No kiddos or strollers allowed indoors for the tours which is sad... but hey! entrance into the grounds is free.

Can you imagine attending a party here?  Or being invited for an extended stay sleep over?

*Hugo thought the statues were full of bad people, frozen by Mr Freeze.  Ahhhhh...  I'm thinkn' we're in need of a trip to the Met.

Good Friends

They're here!  Mike and Annabelle are here!
I knew I missed them, but didn't know exactly how much I missed them.
Until I hugged them.
Goodness how we've changed and have also stayed the same.
I'm a Momma of three now.
Bella is wishing to be a Grandmother!  A Grandmother!
Mike is sweet and smiley as ever.
Hugo was in love at first sight.  Was stuck like glue to Tio Mike.
Cesar has his eyes on the Adobo prize.

Playdate Thursday

This is how our Playdate Thursday began. With me, then Mr Hugo, slip slap crashing bottom first, feet up in the air, laughing the whole way down, and sllliiiiiiding through the glurp up to our waists in the murky river water. We were wet and gooey. Our playdate friends hadn't even arrived yet and here we were, soaked to the bones and stinky. Into the car a stripped Hugo was buckled and I borrowed a car blanket from newly arrived Shaka. We drove fast for home. We picked out new clothes. Washed up and dressed. Pulled through a drive thru for Dunkin Donuts treats and sped off back to the playground to meet up with our friends.

*I can't believe how large my rear end looks outlined in glurpy mud. Ouch!

I love that Hugo can still fit into these snap up overalls from last year.

The End!
