Valentine's is right around the corner. It is one of my favorite holidays with everything pink and lovey. I like lovey a whole lot. I want Hugo to enjoy holidays and participate in all their sillyness. We shaved crayons of all sorts of colors with a vegetable peeler. Between sheets of waxed paper we first shaped our love hearts and then melted the wax with a hot iron.
When we peeled back the paper towel to examine our work Hugo touched the hearts and told me they were nice and warm.
My good helper ironed some more. He also wanted to push the buttons and turn the setting dial. I reminded him that his job description of a "good helper" today, was to stand still and keep his hand on the iron's handle. He managed. Burn free I might add!
Hugo enjoys telling us that he loves us. Today we talked about how heart shapes can mean I love you.

Does that mean I get one too???? I hope so!!!!!!!!!! Pretty.
Love this! Such a cute idea. That little tiny heart shaped bubble in your ironed heart is perfect. Do you see it, too?
That's so sweet! Hugo will hopefully mature into a romantic young man...sweeping the girls off their feet! Keep trainin' him Alissa. The world needs more romance :)
A very happy Valentine's Day to you & your family xo
good idea! I haven't done this in forever. my kids are out of school thru monday....so we're totally doing this tomorrow!!!
Pretty! I haven't seen this craft before, fun, fun!
These are so cool, it makes me want to go and play :0)
I remember doing this so very long ago with you kids way out in California. I was very fun, but I didn't trust any of you to do the ironing bit!
