I Do It Myself!

I've been hearing the words, "I do it myself" a lot from our young Hugo. Sometimes I luck out and get to continue to do things my own way. Sometimes I give him two choices to decide between. This morning Hugo had a chance to decide between his shirt with the ghosts or the one with the race cars. He chose the cars. A half hour ago we were dressing for outside. First, we needed to haul wood for the night and second, we needed some fun in the falling snow before dinner. Hugo wanted to put his boots on all by himself. I wanted him to wear his snow boots and to hurry, he wanted his lizard boots and was taking his own sweet time - killing me softly i might add. I gave in and waited. I leaned against the door and wondered what would I cook tonight... hmmm? It wasn't until after we had gotten our fill of wood and begun to play in the new snow that I noticed his boots were on the wrong feet. Ooops! So I guess that is the new stage we've entered. Learning the difference between left and right and which boot goes with which foot. This is a very important stage.

That's a cool stage. I still put the wrong shoes on the wrong foot sometimes. I'm sure Hugo will master it all way better than I did :)

Yes, yes. Cha-cha and I have the snowboots versus rainboots debate often... the right and left thing I just chuckle about now. She's so stubborn, eventually I figure she'll just decide it's more comfortable to have them on the correct feet.

Thank you for calling by my blog. Yours looks very inviting, I have no time now but will call back later for a good browse. I loved those shadowy snow pics.
Ah I wish my son was the age of yours, he is 27 now. Enjoy Hugo's childhood, it passes all too quickly.

I am pleased you want to have a go at the letter thing. Can I give you the letter 'H' for Hugo to blog about? If you don't like that try 'A'.
Best wishes,
Cait
