One of our big pines was struck by lightning last night. I heard it. I screamed/yelped/jumped while on the phone with my sister Millie late at night. I told her I was pretty sure that the back of the house was hit by lightning. It was kinda freaky. Millie suggested that I hang up and unplug the computer, which I promptly did.
This is the third time our property, our immediate property, has been the target of lightning in the past 10 years. The saying goes that lightning never strikes the same place twice. I'm not sure this is true. Or maybe it just doesn't apply to us. Lightning rods ARE being installed asap.
